Dear Families,

We are happy to report that we are still COVID free. As outlined in the last update we had to work with DOH on an issue surrounding the testing swabs we used and they, unfortunately, resulted in us having to suspend visitation. We anticipate restarting restricted visitation on Monday, September 21. Please note that NYS DOH changed its regulations surrounding visitation. The most notable change is that each visitor needs to bring a copy of a NEGATIVE COVID test that was done with in the last 7 days prior to visiting. Additionally, no one under the age of 18 may visit. Additionally please be on the lookout for further updates as the DOH is constantly revising the guidelines that we are required to adhere to.

As a review of the general rules for restricted visitation

  • Visitation will be by appointment only.

  • Visitation will be limited to outdoor areas unless there are weather issues.

    •   Visitation in care areas or rooms are prohibited at this time

  • Only 1 family per appointment with maximum of 2 family members who must be 18 years of age or older.

  • Visitation will be for 20 minutes

  • Family must arrive timely. If you are late, it will cut into your time. It is not fair to other families who have scheduled their visitation.

  • Face masks must be worn at all times. This includes guests and residents. Face masks must cover both mouth and nose at all times.

  • 6 feet minimum distance must be kept.

    • Physical contact is not allowed at this time

  • Staff will be present to help with the transition of residents, monitoring of visitation, and cleaning and disinfecting areas used for visitation after each visit

  • Guests must be screened for contact tracing purposes

A new rule for visitation as per DOH - It is required to bring proof of a negative test within the last 7 days prior to visitation. Without this, the visit will be canceled.
